A Time with Isadora: How One Artist Influences Many will be available on demand beginning Friday, May 26. This full length film follows the development and execution of Movement Arts Atlanta's project, A Time with Isadora, which is inspired by the phenomenon of Isadora Duncan. The project integrates historic dance works, new choreography, visual art, photography and filmmaking and examines how artists are influenced by their predecessors, their colleagues and their environments.

Movement Arts Atlanta’s Beauty Through Mattus will be a part of the inaugural Inman Park Dance Festival Film Showing. It will be shown with Full Radius Dance’s Restructured Jodie Jernigan’s Home Sweet Home.

The showing of the films will be followed by an artist discussion.

Inman Park Dance Festival

Your invited to celebrate the breadth of Atlanta’s dance community during two free admission performances of the Inman Park Dance Festival (IPDF). Celebrating 21 years in 202,3 the dance festival is one of the many ways that the Inman Park Festival and Tour of Homes supports the performing arts. The two shows present both classical ballet and modern dance in a family friendly format at Inman Park’s historic Trolley Barn. The festival will present a program presenting the following Atlanta area companies; Ballethnic, Full Radius Dance (FRD), The Georgia Ballet, ImmerseATL and Movement Arts Atlanta (MAA). The contribution by FRD and MAA will include dances that are a part of A Time with Isadora: Duncan’s Narcissus, excerpts from Limón’s Dances for Isadora, Beauty Through Mattus by MAA’s Carolyn Stine McLaughlin and You Were Once Wild Here by Douglas Scott of FRD.

Olmsted Plein Air Invitational - Quick Paint

A Time with is Isadora is honored to be a part of this year’s Olmsted Plein Air Invitational Quick Paint. In its 9th year, this event will host 28 of the Nation’s top plein air painters.

This year's Quick Paint Competition will have an addition to the landscape! Dancers from our project will perform Beauty Through Mattus. A Time with Isadora was sparked by the beautiful rolling landscape of the Olmsted Linear Parks. The dance will be performed at 8:35 am, 9:15 am and 9:45 am in Dellwood Park at the intersection of Ponce de Leon Avenue and Clifton Road.

You are invited to the Athens premiere of the documentary film A Time with Isadora. The documentary is a part of Movement Arts Atlanta's dance project of the same name which is inspired by Atlanta's Olmsted Linear Parks and the modern dance pioneer Isadora Duncan. The project explores how one artist influences many, integrating historic dance works, new choreography, visual art, photography and filmmaking. The documentary is being produced by a team of film makers from the University of Georgia; Carrie Miller, Mollie Robertson and Margot McLaughlin.
